WebJan 11, 2024 · Favourites like the vigorous ‘Magnet’ (1890s) and the Greatorex Double ‘Hippolyta’ (1940s) are as popular today as they were when they were introduced. ‘Hippolyta’ was bred by Heyrick Greatorex, one of the UK’s first amateur snowdrop breeders, by crossing G. nivalis ‘Flore Pleno’ with G. plicatus.
