Webb18 jan. 2024 · On the Z9, the 500PF + TC-14E III is AT LEAST as fast as the 500PF only on my D500 - in fact, in most cases it was BETTER and often was basically instant. Webb5 sep. 2024 · Personally I wouldn't. Sharpness wise it's just acceptable at the long end wide open without a TC. Also, you will find that the AF will be painfully slow if you had to loose more light. So if you're only shooting a static subject, in bright light, and able to stop down the aperture to f8 or slightly higher, then yes. Nikon 500mm F5.6 PF + 1.4x TCIII converter. Recently I had a question about using the wildly popular 500mm F5.6 with a 1.4x converter. Cree and I just can’t get enough time with the 500mm F5.6 PF. This is one of Nikon’s best ideas, a walk around razor sharp wildlife lens.
Webb4 juli 2024 · A 500mm lens provides a 56% larger image size than a 400mm lens and cropping a image file from the 400mm is not going to provide as good an image. You can add the TC-14 III teleconverter to the 400mm f/2.8 to get a 560mm f/4 lens that should provide image quality that is at least as good as with the 500mm PF lens.
